Pirate Fucking Radio is from Augusta, Georgia, the home of James Brown.
HISTORY
The band was originally conceived as a then-hip three-piece drums/bass/turntable project in 2002. That project never came to fruition - not even a single rehearsal was held. The band finally formed as a three piece (guitar/bass/drums) with alternating drummers over a bored winter break in 2006. A rawly recorded cassette ("One Mic", ZP001) was culled from that three day session and "released" on "ZAP Cassettes."
The band didn’t play again until a studio version was recorded ("Pirate Fucking Radio", ZP004) in August 2007. That session included a dual-drummer lineup. A three-piece lineup haphazardly recorded a quick (mono) EP ("Toaster Sessions", ZP005) in a kitchen loft on a cold January morning in 2008.
P.F.R. reformed once again as an Augusta two-piece over a lengthy period of unemployment in 2009. A full-length cassette ("Come Correct", ZP010) was completed in Spring 2009. A crusty "Come Correct" follow-up cassette ("Imminent Death Syndrome", ZP016), was release in summer 2010.
